Which survey do I need?

There is no one-size-fits-all survey. The right level depends on the age and construction of the property, the condition it appears to be in, and what you plan to do with it. Here is how our surveyors decide — and if you are still unsure, call us and we will tell you straight.

Match your property to the right report

Conventional home, reasonable condition

RICS Home Survey Level 2

Standard-construction flats and houses that look well maintained. Condition ratings tell you what needs attention and when.

Older, altered or unusual property

RICS Home Survey Level 3

Listed buildings, non-standard construction, heavy extensions, visible disrepair or planned structural works all justify the deeper inspection.

You also need to know what it's worth

Add a valuation

Either survey level can be instructed with a surveyor's professional opinion of market value in the same visit.

You only need a value, not a condition report
